Four things that sum up my Arkansas mornings: tart berries, brisk walks, crunchy snow and fresh ideas.

I followed Kirk to northwest Arkansas for the week while he attends a work conference. I love any chance I get to hang out with his grandparents, who live in Arkansas and who always welcome us with open arms. These visits are filled with laughter, delicious food (thanks Kayma) and outdoor adventures. Dubbed “The Natural State,” Arkansas has so much to offer in the outdoors . Kirk lived here as a child and his obsession…I mean passion..for fly fishing stems from his access to the pristine waters of Roaring River. To have not grown up here myself, I often wonder why this place feels like home to me. But, when surrounded by loving people and beautiful surroundings, I guess anyone could feel as if they belong.

Nothing brings me back down to earth quite like being in the Ozarks
