“The troubles of the world…they don’t follow you out here.” – Kirk

One of the things that drew me to Kirk was his love for the outdoors. He always seems to know how to have fun regardless of where he is. However, when given the choice, he will always choose to be near a water source with his fly rod in hand. At any given moment, there is a 90% chance that we have fly fishing gear in the back of the car, just in case the opportunity presents itself.

His passion for fly fishing stems from his childhood days at Roaring River, close to where he grew up in Missouri. I honestly think character can be built out on trout streams. After all, it takes patience to untangle thin lines and tie on tiny flies, persistence to cast from sun up to sun down and an appreciation for nature to catch and release.

To me, fly fishing is the art of being meticulous yet relaxed, calm though excited, focused but free.
